CARANA developed Zambia's position presented before the World Trade Organization's forum for least-developed countries. CARANA experts worked with Zambian ministries responsible for trade policy to develop arguments in favor of greater technical assistance from the WTO for trade policy reform, customs improvements, and non-tariff barrier removal. We also advised Zambia on its trade strategy within regional trade pacts, notably the SADC and COMESA, particularly in view of the slow progress in trade liberalization by Zambia's major trading partners.
