CARANA worked with the Government of Bolivia to assist selected rural producer associations with technical guidance in an effort to increase rural incomes. We provided targeted technical assistance, training, and marketing services to selected cooperatives and other rural associations aimed at increasing production, improving quality, and broadening access to markets and more favorable prices. We provided assistance in a number of product areas, and offered training in the correct use of pesticides and fertilizers, better packaging, and the importance of adequate quality control. The project focused on developing linkages between producer associations and large private firms, many of them exporters, providing rural groups with access to new marketing channels in domestic and export markets. |
