CARANA is continuously recruiting consultants with 15 or more years of professional experience to provide technical assistance on international donor-funded projects working to promote a business climate that is conducive to private sector growth while reducing administrative costs and barriers to doing business. Technical assistance will contribute to the creation of a business enabling environment to reduce and eliminate bottlenecks to growth and competitiveness and attract sustainable investment. Activities may include, but are not limited to, drafting, implementing and promoting clear and transparent laws and regulations and the simplification of administrative processes.
Technical Advisors with the following expertise are needed:
- Business-related Licensing and Registration
- Legal and Regulatory Reform
- Commercial Law Reform and Enforcement
- Tax Systems and Administration
- Economic Governance in areas related to investment promotion, trade and customs
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fifteen years working in developing countries on business enabling environment reform activities including commercial law and regulatory systems reform with donor funded programs;
- Prior experience managing professional teams in a long-term team leader or advisory role;
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in difficult environments and interact professionally and diplomatically with high level host country and donor counterparts;
- Superior communication and diplomatic skills, and;
- An advanced degree in law or another relevant field.
