CARANA Corporation is seeking an experienced, dynamic and innovative Chief of Party for pending projects in Eastern Europe and the Balkans to assist local enterprises compete in domestic, regional, and international markets. Responsibilities may include: providing solutions to reduce unemployment, leading efforts to improve export promotion, trade, business development services, and the enabling business environment; facilitating SME development and development of business support associations; and performing economic and market-linkages analysis.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in economics, business management, law, or other relevant field
• At least ten years of managerial experience in business management, competition law, and economics or sectoral expertise in competitiveness, industry cluster development, job and employment promotion, agribusiness, livestock, apparel, viniculture, land rights, transparency, capital markets, tourism promotion, foreign direct investment and investment promotion, SME development, monitoring and evaluation, and communications
• At least 5 years experience as a Chief of Party of USAID-funded projects preferred
• Proven success managing competitiveness project(s)
• Demonstrated ability to advise, liaise, and manage working relationships with high-level officials and stakeholders
• Europe/Eurasia or Balkans work experience preferred
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
