Peru Cocoa Alliance signs MoU with COCOANECT of the Netherlands

On September 20, 2015 the Peru Cocoa Alliance and COCOANECT singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) linking more than 16,000 Peruvian producers to European chocolate makers. The Peru Cocoa Allaince, a public-private partnership supported by USAID, connects cocoa farmers in the Ucayali, San Martín and Huánuco regions of the Amazon basin with other stakeholders along the cocoa value chain to propel Peru to become a market leader in traceable, fine-flavor cocoa. Joining forces with COCOANECT will integrate Alliance member-producers into a growing global network dedicated to sustainable cacao production.
