Storage handbook takes aim at staple crop losses

Storage's crucial, yet often overlooked role in food security gets a thorough technical grounding in the "Staple Crops Storage Handbook." Written by the staff of the Market Linkages Initiative in East Africa, this manual covers grain quality--including those factors affecting grain in storage--before delving into storage systems, warehouse management, packing, receiving, stacking and record-keeping, concluding with sections on losses, pests and controls.
